How to DIY instantly de-tan skin my way

Hey cuties !
Marriage season is on the go and who doesn't wish to shine out in the wedding. Whether you are the bride or her sister or her friend or bridesmaid, everyone wants to look perfect. But sometimes the tanning, dark spots and dullness comes in the way. But worry no more ! Here are the tricks that I use to instantly lighten up my skin for that perfect look.

Turmeric face pack -
You'll need -
  • 1 part turmeric powder
  • 3 parts gram flour (besan)
  • Milk cream and milk (for mixing)
  • Almond oil (optional)
Take turmeric powder and gram flour in a bowl. Mix them with the help of milk to attain desired consistency, Add milk cream for moisturizing effect. Adding almond oil is optional but you'll have a lot more added benefits if you add almond oil.
Apply this mixture on your face and neck. Once dried, wash it with cold water and pat dry.
This face pack nourishes dull skin, gives it a golden glow and is also very effective in reducing dark spots and tanning. Repeat it twice a week to get good results.

Multani mitti (Fuller's earth) face pack -
You'll need -
  • Multani mitti/Fuller's earth
  • Rose water
  • Chandan/Sandalwood powder (optional)
Mix multani mitti with rose water. You can easily get rose water in  market or you can DIY it by taking rose petals and boiling them in water. Once the petals go transparent, you'll know that your DIY rose water is done. You can also add chandan for added benefits. Mix them all to attain desired consistency. Apply on face and neck, let it dry and then wash off with cold water. Pat dry. Repeat it twice a week to get good results.
This face pack shrinks your skin pores thus reducing pimples. It also reduces wrinkles and is very effective in removing tanning. win-win :D

Lemon -
You can also use lemon juice to attain glowing skin. All you need to do is take lemon juice and apply on desired areas, let it get dried. Now, take a towel and dip it in lukewarm water, remove the lemon juice off your skin by wiping it off with this towel. Result, instantly lightened skin.

Potato -
Mash potatoes and apply the juice to desired areas, let it dry and then wash off with cold water. Potatoes are really good for skin lightening and enhancing its texture. But you'll need to repeat this procedure daily to attain desired results.

Bleach -
Now if you don't have much time and you want to lighten up your skin tone instantly, bleaching is always a good and fast method. I do not recommend it much, but if you want really fast skin lightening, you can try it out. I basically use it for reducing tan instantly on my arms and legs if I need to go to a party or any occasion.

Oriflame essentials 5 in 1 fairness face cream review

Hey cuties ! I hope everyone's having a great day. Today, I'm back with yet another review. I hope ya'll will like it. Don't forget to comment and tell me if you guys liked this review.
So today, we have the oriflame 5 in 1 fairness cream under the review torch. I personally love the brand as mostly all the products from it are good with my skin.

Price - Rs 329/- INR

Quantity - 75g

Shelf life - 3 years

Skin type - All skin types

Packaging - The oriflame essentials comes in a sturdy tub packaging with pink colored cap and white colored tub.

Ingredients - AQUA, ETHYLHEXYL STEARATE, GLYCERIN, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, CETYL ALCOHOL, GLYCERYL STEARATE SE, STEARYL ALCOHOL, DIMETHICONE, ETHYLHEXYL PALMITATE, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, CETEARETH-20, CETEARYL ETHYLHEXANOATE, CERA MICROCRISTALLINA, PARFUM, IMIDAZOLIDINYL UREA, CARBOMER, STEARIC ACID, METHYLPARABEN, PALMITIC ACID, PROPYLPARABEN, BHT, SODIUM HYDROXIDE, ISOPROPYL MYRISTATE, NIACINAMIDE, MORUS ALBA EXTRACT, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, SODIUM STARCH OCTENYLSUCCINATE, CALCIUM PANTOTHENATE, MALTODEXTRIN, SODIUM ASCORBYL PHOSPHATE, ARACHIDIC ACID, LAURIC ACID, MYRISTIC ACID, PYRIDOXINE HCL, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, SILICA

Claims - The oriflame essentials 5 in 1 fairness face cream claims to moisturize, nourish, protect, lighten and smooth skin.

My take on the product -
The oriflame essentials fairness 5 in 1 fairness cream is yet another budget friendly face cream from the essentials range from the house of oriflame. I was attracted towards this cream as it claimed to give my skin all the 5 benefits at once.
Firstly, taking about the texture of the product, it is white and creamy as you can see in the picture. It has a really good smell, its close to rose like smell which I think most of the oriflame products have but it didn't stay for long .

Once it spreads, it is absorbed into the skin instantly and doesn't give you any oily feel. Though, I would recommend this cream for dry skinned people more because it does moisturize your skin really well. Oily skinned ones may find it a little too moisturizing. I have a normal skin so I plan to use it in winters.

Talking about the fairness part, I personally didn't feel any lightening effect on my skin but it didn't darken my skin either. I'm not sure about how it will protect my skin because there is nothing given about the SPF content. It did smooth and nourish my skin because my skin felt fresh and moisturized after using it.

Pros -
- Not too heavy on your pocket.
- Nice smell.
- Good at moisturizing, nourishing and smoothing part of the claim.

Cons -
- Tub packaging is not hygienic.
- Didn't notice any lightening of skin.
- Not sure how it will protect my skin.

Rating - 3/5

Will I buy it ?
Though it did moisturize my skin really well and I loved the smell, yet, I think that looking at the price, this cream didn't do much. So maybe I'll just use it as my daily winter moisturizer and never look back again.

My daily hair care regime and hacks

Hey cuties ! Today I'm going to share what I do to make my hair shiny and smooth. To be true I don't do much but my friends keep on asking what my secret is. Being honest I face all the problems that any girl out there would face, though, I'm blessed with great hairs ( Thanks to my genes :P ) I have a oily scalp & I do get dandruff problems, bad hair days and sometimes I get lazy and don't wash my hairs but then no one's blessed with eternal beauty, you have to try to keep it. So here is all I know that actually makes my hair what they are.

1. Oiling
Every one knows the benefits of oiling. Don't try to skip it, oiling is very much needed by your hairs like washing. Choose a oil that suits your hair, I use coconut oil and I highly recommend it. Coconut oil makes your hair healthier and shinier. Hibiscus flower is also really great for hairs, it induces hair growth and maintains their natural color. So I mix them both and make my own DIY hair oil. What u will need to make this hair oil is -

- Any hair oil (I recommend coconut oil)
- Hibiscus flower

Now, what u need to do next is, take the amount of oil you need in a bowl and dip the flower in it. Leave it overnight for best result or you can also keep it for at least an hour. You will notice change in color of the oil as it will turn golden. Now the oil is done. Massage this on your scalp and leave it for at least an hour. This oil will work wonders on your hair and you will be surprised at how shinier and softer they are.

2. Shampooing
Yes, of course shampooing is in everyone's hair care regime but choosing the right kind of shampoo is also very necessary. Depending on the type of your scalp, whether its oily or dry, you can select the type of shampoo that will be good for your hairs.
Also, you need to keep in mind that over-shampooing is not good for your hair. If you wash your hairs daily, your hairs will not get the natural oils present on your scalp as they will get washed off. And just like that, shampooing your hairs too late can be pretty bad for your hairs too.
Right now I'm using Lotus Herbals soya shine shampoo but you can choose any other shampoo that suits your scalp type.
I love trying out different products but when it comes to my hair care I strictly stick to what suits me.

3. Conditioning
Conditioning repairs the damage that is done to your hairs during shampooing. You should always make sure that you apply conditioner only to the lower part of your hairs. But to be honest, I don't usually use a conditioner as I don't need to. Hibiscus and coconut oil work wonders for me and I use conditioner very less often.
Instead of using the conditioner that you get in market, I apply curd ( full cream milk only ) before shampooing and after it gets dried up, wash it with water and follow with shampooing.

4. Eat healthy
Including food in your diet that are rich in protein and fatty acids like omega-3 can improve your hair strength and make them healthier. Add food like pulses, green leafy vegetables, sprouted seeds and green peas to your diet. You can easily DIY sprouted seeds by soaking gram in water and leaving it overnight.

That's all I do to keep my hair healthy.Feel free to comment and tell me if this post helped you. :)

Lotus Herbals SAFE SUN UV- Protection Body Lotion Nourishing Whitening Milk SPF 25 PA++ Calendula Extracts Review

Hey cuties ! I hope everyone’s having a great day. Im so excited today as this is going to be my first review on my blog.
Let me first introduce myself.  My name is Anubha & Im a 20 yrs old student enjoying my life here at Lucknow, India. I love dressing up & everything a girl who just crossed her teens would like.
I request all cuties to kindly comment & share your views on this review.
So, lets just get started already !

Price -  Rs 240/-  INR

Shelf Life - Approx 3 yrs

Skin Type – Normal to dry skin

I was looking for something new to try this summer when I saw this body lotion at the market. I was attracted to it at once b’cuz Lotus Herbals is one of my fav brands as it is budget friendly and well, of course, “herbal”. So, I decided to give it a try.

Packaging - First of all lets just talk about the packaging of the product. This body lotion comes in a tangerine orange colored plastic  pump bottle. The orange color is the same as all the Lotus Herbals SAFE SUN range products which draws your attention at once. The pump works great and only required amount comes out  so the product is not wasted. I had no issues with the plastic of the bottle,  its great n solid.

Claim of the product –

My take on the product –  Talking primarily abt the texture of the product, Lotus Herbals SAFE SUN UV-Protect body lotion Calendula Extracts  SPF 25 PA ++ has a very creamy texture. It is whitish in color and the smell is heavenly yet herbal. The smell lingers for a small amount of time and fades away soon. I personally loved the smell.

The lotion spreads easy and absorbed into my skin completely and quickly. It didn’t leave any whitish patch on my skin, instead, made it look healthier n my skin felt softer and really moisturized. So I think its great for dry skinned cuties. Though, for those with oily skin can find it a little too much in summers.

I have a normal skin type so I think that this body lotion can actually work for me in winters as well. :D
After hours of using this product, my skin still felt pretty well hydrated which is great.

Hand on which I didn't apply this lotion

Hand on which I applied this lotion

Now lets talk about what I felt about the claims that this product made. About the whitening part I think it does make skin look healthier thus skin color enhances but after some time it comes back to normal but then the brand claims that it lightens skin tone (on regular use)  so maybe you will notice a little lightened skin but not a major difference which is sad.

Rating – 4/5

Pros –
  • Budget friendly
  • Herbal smell
  • Moisturizes to a good extend so good for dry skin
  • SPF 25 PA++ UVA & UVB protection
  • Contains vit B3 & vit E which is great for skin
  • No white casts
  • Skin stays hydrated for long
  • Skin does light up instantly

Cons –
  • Doesn’t make any major difference in original skin color but one may see a little difference on regular use.
  • Contains paraben, urea which can be pretty harmful for your health & skin.
  • Oily skinned people may not like it.

Will I buy it ?
Yes, I think I can buy it again b'cuz I love its smell & the moisturizing properties which comes with sun protection. But I would prefer some other body lotion if it comes with same pros but lesser harmful chemicals.

That's all about this review. Don't forget to comment & share your views if you like this review.
